What Scout Does

Scout is a personal price tracking tool. The browser extension extracts product information (name, brand, price, sizes, stock status) from retailer websites you visit and sends it to your self-hosted Scout server for tracking.

Data We Collect

• Product data from retailer pages (prices, names, sizes, images) — only when you click "Track" or during scheduled price checks on items you previously tracked
• Your email address — only if you opt in to price drop alerts
• An authentication token stored locally in your browser

Data We Do Not Collect

• Browsing history or activity on non-tracked pages
• Personal or financial information
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

Data Storage

All data is stored on your personal Scout server. No data is shared with or sold to third parties.
